Monaco Events: Grand Prix, Yacht Show & Riviera Nightlife
Plan your Monaco visit around its extraordinary events calendar—the legendary May Grand Prix, September superyacht show, January Monte-Carlo Rally, spring classical music festival, and the year-round nightlife scene from the Casino's private rooms to Jimmy'z open-air nightclub by the sea.

Monaco Grand Prix – May Race Weekend
The Monaco Grand Prix (held each May since 1929) is the jewel of the Formula 1 calendar—the only race where drivers genuinely fear the barriers. Grandstand tickets sell out years in advance; however, public areas around Sainte-Dévote, Casino Square, and the Rascasse offer free views of the circuit. The Thursday practice session and Saturday qualifying are often more entertaining than the Sunday race.

Monaco Yacht Show – September
The Monaco Yacht Show, held each September in Port Hercule, is the world's premier superyacht exhibition—400+ vessels up to 90 metres in length open for inspection by appointment. The show transforms the harbour for four days; evening parties on the quays spill into the port-side restaurants. Spectators can view the yachts from the quayside for free outside ticketed hours.

E-Prix de Monaco – Electric Formula Racing
Since 2021 Monaco has hosted a round of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship—electric single-seater racing on a shorter circuit than the F1 route. The E-Prix runs in late April/early May and offers more accessible ticket prices than the F1 Grand Prix, with a different atmosphere emphasising sustainability and technology alongside the traditional glamour.

Monte-Carlo Rally – January
The Monte-Carlo Rally has opened the FIA World Rally Championship calendar since 1911—one of the oldest motorsport events in the world. Competitors race on snowy Alpine special stages above Monaco in January before the ceremonial finish on the Boulevard Albert I. Spectators in Monaco watch the closing stages on mountain roads and the prize-giving ceremony in the port area.

Printemps des Arts & Classical Music
The Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo classical music festival, held each March–April, brings internationally acclaimed soloists and ensembles to Monaco's intimate concert halls. The festival's programming is adventurous—chamber music, song cycles, and contemporary pieces alongside canonical masterworks—in the Salle Garnier opera house, Grimaldi Forum, and the palace courtyard in summer.

Monaco's Nightlife & Social Scene
Monaco's nightlife is among the Riviera's most glamorous. The Casino's private rooms attract high rollers; the Sass Café, Buddha-Bar, and Jimmy'z nightclub (open-air by the sea) are the principal social venues during summer and Grand Prix week. The Hôtel de Paris bar and the Hôtel Hermitage's Belle Époque bar are icons of Riviera social life accessible without a reservation.
